Justin and I decided to stop at Wendy's to get root beer floats today. They call them Frosty Floats and it's vanilla frosty with root beer...obviously.
Justin: Can we get 2 Frosty Floats?
Lady at Wendy's Drive Thru: Okay, would you like root beer on that?
WHAT???
Justin: Um....Ya we do.
We laughed all the way home! Who orders a root beer float without the root beer?
Can we get a root beer float without the root beer...while you're at it, just hold the ice cream too and we'd like to just pay for an empty cup with the Wendy's logo. :) Some people are funny.

Potty Update
Mya is now officially potty trained! Today is day 6 and she hasn't had any accidents since Sunday and is now wearing big girl panties! Yesterday she told me she wanted to wear panties so I let her, crossing my fingers for no accidents...and she hasn't had any. She'll tell me every time she needs to go. She's so proud of herself and happy and so are we. It's cute seeing her little bum in panties now instead of a diaper. She's just so cute!

It's Potty Time!
So I started potty training Mya yesterday. She's doing great. Yesterday she only had 3 accidents. This morning when she woke up, she was dry and went straight to her toilet to go. We only had 1/2 accident today. I think she started to pee a little, but then remembered and held the rest in while she yelled and told me she had to go potty. I'm so proud of her. She's doing so good!
Bitter Sweet
I always feel better when I vent, so I guess this post is for me. I love being a homeowner. I love the pride you have in your home as you work to fix it up and keep it nice. I love the memories...but at the same time, I hate being a homeowner. What happened to mom and dad taking care of everything and not having a care in the world except when your homework assignment was due and what you were going to do for the weekend? Oh ya, I grew up. Blah! And with that comes responsibilities...
Let's start with our dishwasher...2 years ago (ONLY 2 years ago) we bought our dishwasher. She treats me good. I love how she looks in my kitchen (since it's the only decent looking appliance in my kitchen) and she cleans so good! But what I don't like is how loud she is getting. It was the quietest dishwasher I had ever heard when we got it. I had to stop to listen to see if it was running. Now, it lets our entire house know it's running....like it's lacking attention. Justin's torn it apart only to find nothing wrong with it. We talked to an appliance guy and we are now just waiting for the motor to seize up on us. Great.
Then let's move onto our washing machine. We had to replace it just over a year ago and when we did, it was a good option to get a refurbished one from Advanced Appliance. It was the same washing machine my mom had before she upgraded to her front-loader. But someone in our house (me) has a hard time keeping the loads at a reasonable size and weight. Sometimes it is to worth it to pack an extra towel or pair of pants in it to avoid ANOTHER load of laundry to wash and fold. Well, we had to get the clutch replaced on it again...yes again. The clutches that should last 3-5 years only last me less than a year...Yes, I am now doing smaller and more frequent loads of laundry.
Now let's move onto our air conditioner. 2 years ago it wasn't working and we had Barlow come and look at it. It has a leak in the hose so instead of replacing the part, we just had them try to seal it to see if that would fix the problem. It didn't and we had to have them come fill the coolant stuff up again last year...once again, I've used the wonderful cooling devise enough this year that it's telling me it wants a break...Looks like we'll need to call Barlow again.
Am I really that hard on appliances and technology? Man, I think these are the same things I vented about 2 years ago. But my lovely 15-year-old stove, refrigerator, and water heater is still working. As much as I wanted them to go out when we bought the house, I'm just hoping they'll hang in there for me for a while longer. I think I'll keep paying my tithing just to make sure things don't get out of hand.

Parker's Blessing
So on the 4th we blessed Parker. The day couldn't have gone better. Everything went really smooth that morning and sacrament meeting was so great. I of course cried. There's something about blessing your baby...the spirit is so strong! Then after people came over and we had a breakfast. We had cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, muffins, banana bread, cake, breakfast bakes (which, I'm putting the recipe on the side of my blog since I've had a lot of requests), fruit and lots of chocolate milk, orange juice, and milk. All of the food was yummy. I loved Parker's outfit. Such a stud! It really ended up being such a nice 4th of July weekend.
Swimming Weather!
It has been so hot lately! Once it finally started to warm up this summer, I decided to go find Mya a sprinkler toy or something since we can't seem to find her pool this year. I ended up coming home with a slip-n-slide! She loved it. She doesn't really get the whole slide-down-on-it-on-your-belly concept, but she loves crawling through it and hanging out in the little pool at the end.

Then last week was our ward's swim party at the Roy Aquatic Center. She had a blast! She even went down the big slide with Justin!

Ever since we went to Florida to visit Rebecca, Mya's wanted her own tube for swimming. So today I bought her one along with some floaties for her arms. I think we'll have to go swimming very soon so she can try out her new toys!

She was so excited she went and got herself dressed...what a goof!

Funny Mya
Mya loves getting a hold of my camera and taking pictures. Whenever I go to get my camera, I find new pictures that she's taken. I told her she can have my camera when I get a new one...so she really wants me to get a new one now. Here are some of her works of art she's taken lately (and yes, I do let her put her own shoes on).

Pineview
In the middle of July, we went with Justin's family up to Pineview for camping. This was taking place of their annual Lake Powell trip since we wouldn't be going to Lake Powell with Parker just born and I think Trichelle's family had some things. So they decided to plan something close so we could come and go as we needed to.It happed to be a really cold weekend. We went up Thursday night and it rained Friday and Saturday. So they ended up not even bringing the boat up. We played games, went on walks between rain storms, and it was nice just hanging out and being away from home. Sunday and Monday were nice though. On Monday, we played kickball, football, and frisbee. Mya and Ivy kept talking and asking about going swimming. We knew the water was freezing, but decided to let them figure that out and that they didn't really want to go swimming. We got them all ready and headed down there...only that the water was cold but not as cold as we expected. So all of the kids ended up playing in the water for a while. It was a way fun weekend though and it got me way excited for more summer camping trips.

Oh, and Mya now loves rainbows since we saw one while we were up there. She'll now start drawing a whole bunch of lines on a piece of paper and say "Know what I'm drawing?...A rainbow."
Memorial Day
So, I know...Memorial Day was a ways away. But we finally have our computer fixed! So here I go...I'll just blog my little heart out.For Memorial Day we decided to make it a fun family day. I think this is one of the first years we've been able to do this. Usually Justin has something going on (I think usually boat towers) so we don't do a whole lot. But this year we had nothing. Now, when I plan these things, everything sounds good in my head...but not always does everything work out. I guess that's what makes the memories and laughs, though.
We decided to go fishing and feed ducks...up in Logan by the mouth of the Canyon. So when we got up there...it was a little packed. Did we get any bites? Maybe 1...no fish. Did we get to feed ducks? We fed some seagulls and saw ducks swim right by our bread. But Mya was determined to feed some ducks so she ended up throwing the entire loaf in the water. As I was sitting there, I noticed at least 12 slices of bread floating around us at one point. It was pretty funny. My thoughts...we could have just gone to the Clinton pond about 40 minutes closer (and probably a lot less crowded) and fished and actually fed ducks...but oh well. It was fun.

Then after I wanted to barbecue some hamburgers that I brought along and have dinner. We brought charcoal briquettes so we could use one of the park's grills. Well, that place was really crowded and they only had one in the middle of a whole bunch of people. So I had a back up plan of this park that I was 98% sure had one of those grills. We did find the park after driving around a little and...of course, no grill. I guess I was 98% wrong! So on to plan C - we would go buy some hamburgers and go to an elementary school I remembered seeing when I would go visit my friend Stacey so Mya could play on those toys. We got the burgers and went to that school...only the playground wasn't where I remembered seeing it because it was a Junior High! (Mind you, I just had a baby). But we saw a picnic table and thought that'd be nice so we still went there...Only the picnic table didn't have seats.

But you know, it was still so fun. We brought some balls to kick around and Mya had a blast with us. She told us when we left that she wanted to go to that park again...Sorry my dear...we may just have to go to one A LOT closer next time.
