It's A Sign's Blog

Every winter just after the busy season, it slows down a lot at work. It's still steady, but I like this time of year because now we can have fun designing new things. We're re-doing all of our wall lettering (which will be quite a process) and we just finished designing our Cubes (they should be on our website really soon). I'm pretty proud of and excited for these cubes. I think they'll be a big hit and I've already planned to make almost all of them for me!

Another thing we're adding is a blog for It's A Sign! This way people can email us pictures of how their vinyl turned out and we post it. Then people can get ideas from other people or even get ideas of how vinyl is used and think outside of the box a little. I'm adding the link on my blog with the where I work section. If we've done any vinyl for you and you would like it on our blog, please email the picture(s) to us. We're just getting started and need a good variety/amount before the link is on our main website. You can email the pictures to me or my work: orders@iasign.com. Thanks everyone!

Mobile to Mobile

I'm sorry all of you Verizon people who get free mobile to mobile minutes talking to us, but we've made the switch. We're now with AT&T. We switched because it will save us $30 a month. So for all of you who have AT&T, we can now talk for free.

Gettin' In Shape

So some of my friends are doing a Biggest Loser thing and it took me a while to get into it. I finally got into it this last week and a half. I got a treadmill (for free) last summer or fall and Justin moved it so I can use it easier. I love that thing. I set it on Cardio and I can totally handle it. I walk for 3 minutes and run 3 mintues, etc. I've noticed such a difference just in the last week. I've had more energy lately and I've pushed myself with trying new things on the treadmill. I'll sprint the last 30 seconds of my run or different things like that. I hit 2 miles and I wasn't even sweaty afterwards. I've noticed such a difference in my run at the end then the first time I tried it 3 weeks ago. Doing this competition has kept me dedicated to stick with it. My other incentive to stick with this has been our cruise in a few weeks. I just kept thinking about my swimsuit and not knowing if my board shorts would fit yet (last year for Lake Powell they didn't fit...granted I just had Mya a few months before). Guess what? They fit! So thanks Randee for starting this. It was a good idea.

Growing Up

I know I say this all of the time, but I can't believe how big Mya seems to me. A few weeks ago I went to our ward's enrichment night. Justin watched in the nursery and this is what I walked into. She just looked so big just hanging out on the chair eating breadsticks with all of the other big kids. Every once in a while, if it's my week in nursery and Justin can't take Mya to Elder's quorum, I take her to nursery. She is so big. She'll color with the other kids and play with the toys. She still has 6 months, but she fits in with the other kids (other than she doesn't talk or walk and is much smaller).

Some girls just like talking on the phone...

Mya definitely likes playing with phones, and she knows the difference between Mom & Dad's real phone and her princess cell phone. She knows which one really talks back to her. At first she was calling Trichelle and leaving her messages...now I'm not sure how, but she is constantly calling a lot of different people. I usually catch her and hurry and hang up, but once in a while I don't. So if you see a missed call from me or Justin, or you answer and it doesn't sound like anyone is really there, or you get a weird message of jabbers...it's Mya. She just wants to talk to you. So if it's me, I'll leave a real message.

Happy Birthday Mya!

Mya is 1! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by! Here are some fun things we did for her birthday:

On Sunday, we sang to Mya and celebrated it with Justin's family. Her Grandma and Grandpa Ropelato were there, Great-Grandpa Ropelato, Trichelle, Joe, Ivy, Zaden, Kevin, Jaydan, Kimi, Jared, Great-Grandma Stone and Great Grandpa Stone came, too! She got lots of cute clothes! Thanks everyone! We had brownie sundaes (This is Mya walking for food)

On Tuesday was her real birthday. We woke her up to open presents before Justin had to go to work. She got an outfit, magnets, and a Jessie from Toy Story doll.

Justin came home early from work to play with Mya all day (ok, he really came home because he hurt his knee and it was getting worse at work, but this way he was able to play with Mya all day). They played hard! She rode her car for a long time, they played with magnets, played hide-and-seek, and...well, they went to the store to buy Mya a cake but decided to make one instead! At first Justin called me at work to let me know he made a cake, but when he went to double layer it, it started falling apart. So he just kept adding more and more frosting to glue it all together. I pictured something much worse than this. I think it's pretty good, especially for her dad to make her first birthday cake! Way cute!
He even did good decorating...now we just need him to work on his spelling. By the way, there are 3 cans of frosting on this cake.

Later on we had a party for her. We sang, opened presents and she ate her cake she helped dad make.

She definitely liked it!

Here are more pictures of her party.
Her Grandma and Grandpa Wayment came, Bridgette, Dave, Jared, Jessie, Mikayla, Makenzie, Michelle, Madison, Caden, Hallie, Grandma Ropelato, Kimi,
D'Lynn, Brindee, Haylee, Lisa, Ryan, Gavin, Megan, Derek, Heidi, Zoe and a friend of Derek and Heidi's came by.
She got lots of toys, clothes, a doll, and puzzles! It was way fun and Mya just loves interacting with people and having everyone here for her was way fun for her. She had attention on her all day long and she loved it!

Then tonight Mya's Grandma Ropelato came by to give her one more present that hadn't arrived in time for her birthday. She loves it.

Thanks everyone for your love and support!

Walking???

So on Saturday (10th) Mya walked across our kitchen! She has taken a few steps here and there before, but never that much. She walked a few times that night, but not much once we tried to get her to walk more. Once in a while she'll take some steps, but not as many as she did that night.

Hardware Ranch

Two Saturdays ago, we had nothing planned. So Justin told me to finish getting ready and he would take me and Mya somewhere. I wasn't sure where we were going, but once we got by Logan, I realized by the signs that we were going to Hardware Ranch.

For those of you who might not know, this is where they put grain out for wild elk to come feed during the winter. They get up to 600 elk by the end of the season. So we waited in line then went for the sleigh ride through the elk.

It was really fun and way nice to get out and do something. Even Mya liked looking at the elk. Once when we were stopped she kept moving and nodding her head so I would turn her around so she could see the elk.

It was cool seeing them up close and it was way nice to spend some family time together!

Christmas

Christmas was so fun with Mya this year. Every present she opened she stopped and played with it. Even when she opened a book, she wanted to read it. It was way fun. Her favorite thing she got for Christmas - Toothbrushes!

After she got her toothbrushes from her stocking, she had to have them with her the rest of the morning. Even now when we go in the bathroom, she has to have both toothbrushes.

Favorite toy #2 - Cell phone.

She always wants people's cell phones, so she definitely needed one. She loves playing with it (unless there's a real one nearby, then she prefers the real phone). I thought we left it at the bowling alley on New Years Eve, but I found it! Good thing because she loves it!

Favorite Toy #3 - Babies!

She is such a good mom already! She loves feeding her babies (they were twins) and putting their blankets on them. In fact, after we were done opening presents, I got it on camera her just sitting against the wall holding the bottle up to the baby's head and looking around, then taking a swig from the bottle, and putting it back to the baby's head. It was really cute.

Other fun things she loved getting -

Blocks, Car Seat, Bubbles (in her stocking), Baby Cheese Puffs (these were seriouly gone in 4 or 5 days. She loved them), a book and keys.

The one thing she didn't love getting on Christmas (but loves now) - Pajamas! It was her last present to open and one too many. When I handed it to her to open, she pushed it away. When I tried again, she started crying (she really just wanted to play with her phone). So I opened them for her and when I handed them to her, she threw them. But she loves them now.

It was a way fun and memorable Christmas!
