Seven-Eighths Of An Inch

5 years ago (you've probably all heard the story) Justin shot an arrow into his wrist. If you don't know the story, you'll have to ask him about it. But ever since he has a constant numbness and tingling up through his thumb from it and every once in a while, it will go through spurts where it will just hurt so bad. A couple of weeks ago, he twisted his wrist at work and ever since then, it's been hurting worse than it ever has. I talked him into (well, threatened really) calling his doctor that had looked it over before and to schedule an appointment with her. Yesterday we went and saw her and ended up scheduling surgery for June 18th. There was something loose in there he noticed since he twisted it, that actually he had tried cutting it out, but nothing came out. So in this surgery, they would remove whatever was loose in there, remove a scar ball on the end of a nerve and bury the nerve, and she thought there would be some sort of cyst in there that they would remove as well...The surgery needs to be done...Justin's been in constant pain since he twisted his wrist and it's just been so off and on for the last 5 years that it will be good to get this done. The timing-not the best right after we just had a baby and we have all of those bills coming in. But I told Justin that he needed to just see the doctor and get this taken care of and something would work out.

So today I got a text from Justin saying he didn't think he needed surgery anymore. I immediately called him thinking he tried cutting his wrist open again. He didn't, though. This morning he said he woke up and his wrist was all bruised. During work he looked down at it, and it looked like something was on his wrist - a flake of something. But when he looked closer, he could tell something was sticking in his wrist, kind of like a sliver or something, but it couldn't be flicked off, so he started to pull on it. This is what he got out of it:
It's part of his arrow! It's 7/8" long and came straight out of his wrist - not at an angle. No wonder it's been killing! I told Justin we should wait a couple of days to see how it feels and to call the doctor after and to get her opinion, but maybe this is one of the Lord's tender mercies. Maybe this is what is causing all of the problems and he won't need surgery now. Or that it can even be delayed and instead of it costing hundreds (or more) right now, it will just cost the $35.00 we paid the doctor yesterday. I am just amazed at our Heavenly Father's awareness of our individual circumstances and love for us. Because even if he still needs the surgery, this will make the next 3 weeks more bearable for him.

Meaning of Dreams

So, I get a lot of different kinds of dreams. A lot of the time, I can find something that I talked about with someone the day before and that night, I'll dream about it. Sometimes, my dreams are just random and have no meaning and I have no idea where they come from. But, last night, I think my dream had a meaning. I think it was my subconscious letting me know what it really wishes for.

I was in elementary school and we had an assignment due. Me and 5 others finished the assignment that day and turned it in, but the rest of the class hadn't done theirs. As a reward, the teacher let us 6 have an extra 30 minutes at recess after lunch. We were all so excited and talked about what we would do with that 30 extra minutes. I was seriously the happiest I could ever be and I was so happy because I knew exactly what I would do with those 30 minutes...I would take a nap! I was so excited for that nap, that how could I ignore that wish? So today, I am taking a nap. It might just be 30 minutes, but I guess I am really missing my sleep if I'm dreaming about sleeping.

Fun With Dad

Since Parker's been here, Mya's gotten a lot of one on one time with Justin. Here are a few things they do:
This is Mya shooting the birds in our back yard. When she sees one in our yard, she'll say "Oh, it's on my grass...let's go shoot it!" - Such her daddy's girl!
They washed the car! Mya scrubbed the entire time and helped dry! She's so big!
Petting a toad! On the way home the other night, they saw a frog and had to go pet it! She LOVES her Dad!

Such A Singer!

Mya loves to sing! She sings to the radio, at church, to her babies, and even with her movies!

1 Week Old

This first week home has been so great! I'll admit, I'm a little tired. I was getting a little too used to Mya letting us sleep through the night and sleep in! But each night seems to get a little better with Parker finding a schedule.

Parker went to the doctor yesterday for his Newborn check up. He's doing so good! He's already over his birth weight! He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and they like them to be back at their birth weight by 2 weeks old. When we were still in the hospital, his doctor told me that he was tongue-tied, but to watch him and decide if we wanted to get his tongue clipped. The cons of not getting it clipped would be harder for him to nurse and he could have a speech problem when he gets older. We decided to just have the docter clip it yesterday and I'm really glad we did. He only cried for 2 seconds after they clipped it and it had completely quit bleeding after about an hour. He's doing great and he's practically perfect! We haven't had to worry about anything about him so far!

Mya's doing so much better now! Yesterday, it was like a switch just flipped and she's just been her sweet self again. I love this! I love spending the days with my two sweethearts!

Parker Joe

He's here! I love having a baby in the house again! He was born on Monday, May 3rd at 2:14 pm. He weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. The delivery went really well. It went twice as fast and easy as Mya's delivery, and that one went really good, too. He's healthy and such an easy baby! Mya's been very helpful. She is more emotional about everything right now, but she is very proud of her baby brother.

At the hospital:
(Parker brought Mya a gift when he came! He brought her a watering pail, walkie talkies, bubbles, and nerf guns! She loves them!)

With the Grands (and Great Grands):

Finally at home:

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Mya got a kite for Easter. Whenever we think to take it out, there's either absolutely no wind or it's way stormy. Sunday we were finally able to fly it and she loves it!
Oh, and have you seen that commercial where the couple's talking about how they want to kill their weeds and not their lawn?....Yeah, that's us pretty much. I guess the bottle of round up got mixed up with the bottle of Weed-Be-Gone. So we're just going for the dalmation look this year.

27!

Friday was Justin's birthday. I am so glad I did not go into labor that day! Here are some of the fun things we did for it:Wednesday night, we went to the temple then dinner with Justin's parents. Justin chose Red Robin for his birthday. It was fun and the food was really good!
Thursday night we made the cake. Mya's loves to help lick the bowl whenever we make some sort of treat!
If it's your birthday in our house, we sing and do presents as soon as we wake up. So while Justin was in bed, Mya helped me put the candles in the cake and she was so excited for us to sing to him and help Justin open presents. This year he's playing on a softball team so he wanted a mitt and stuff for that. So he got his registration money, mitt, balls, and Avatar.
That day was so good. After my doctor appointment, we went out to lunch at Warren's. That night we went to Justin's basketball game then we all went out to dinner at Applebees. It was a lot of fun and the entire day was just hanging out with the family. Happy Birthday Love! I love you!!!

A Little Responsibility

Last year around this time is when we got our rabbits. Back then, they were so small and cute and Mya and I both loved to hold and pet them. But now, they're big...they're not so cute to hold anymore. But, I am so glad we got them! The reasoning why we have them has definitely changed. At first, I asked Justin if we could have them for me and Mya because they were cute and soft and low-maintenance. Now, we still have them because it gives Mya responsibility. Even though she's 2, she's very good at taking care of her rabbits.

We have 2 water bottles for the rabbits and she'll always help carry an empty one to the water and will carry a full one back to the rabbits, while we carry the other. Even when she says it's heavy, she'll still carry it.

Every week, Justin cleans out their cage. Mya will help get the tools (rake and hoes) from the shed and drag them over to the cage. Then, while Justin's cleaning it out, she'll go back into the shed where we keep their hay and go back and forth with handfuls of hay to put in their cage. Then, when we let them run around, we tell her she needs to make sure they don't eat my flowers or go out front. If they do, our rabbits know that when we clap and yell at them, it means to stop whatever they're doing - either run back into the yard or get away from my flowers. It makes me just laugh when I hear her start clapping and yelling "Will...NO! Will...! NO!" and running after them to get them to stop. Then afterwards she'll lecture them and point her finger at them and tell them not to eat my flowers. (That's what she's doing in the picture above).
When it's time to put them away, she'll help chase them around to help Justin catch them. She usually likes to pet one of them for a while before they get put away. She's so cute with them and she makes us laugh every time!
