Rice, Rice And More Rice Bags!

My sister-in-law, D'Lynn, works at Legacy House assisted living in Ogden and asked me to make a buch of rice bags for her work. Total I will have made 39, but I still have 4 more to buy the stuff for and finish. I get burned out after each set, but I'm ready to get them done and just finish! I'm proud of these though. They are a lot of work and I think they turned out good...I'm especially surprised they're straight! They're pretty big, too. They end up being 15 x 30.

LAKE POWELL!!

Memorial Day weekend we headed out with Justin's family to Lake Powell! It was so fun! The drive down Mya did get car sick, but we just turned off the movies, gave her some Dramine and she was good to go!

We stayed at Paige, Arizona. Mya loved the hotel and would call it our "Pretend House." Our kids loved the boat and both did really well. I wasn't sure how Parker would be since he's so busy, but he did good.

The water was cold so there wasn't a lot of swimming going on. Those who did wore wet suits. So Mya would just put her feet in the water from the back of the boat. Because it was still so cold, there was hardly any people there and the water was way nice for playing on!

Dentist!

Mya was so brave! She went to the dentist for the first time! Since she's so little, I was able to help mold her opinion about the dentist to not be scary. She actually thought it was really cool and overall liked the experience. I told her before we went that they would use a special toothbrush to brush her teeth and the dentist would just check to make sure there were no owies on her teeth.

When we got there, they had me go first so she could watch everything they did and if she had any questions, she could ask them so nothing would seem scary to her. When it was her turn, she had me hold her hand, especially when they moved the chair to have her lay down, but she told me after she really liked it. She thought their toothbrush was really cool and her favorite part was the scraper that the dentist counted her teeth with. After she was so brave and finished, she got a new toothbrush (a princess tiana one), toothpaste, silly bands, eraser and a little toothbrush toy she uses for her barbies and dolls.

I was so glad that first visit went well. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time!
