Mya's Latest

Almost every day now, she's doing things that suprise me. Yesterday, Justin took Mya to Target with him, and since she's sitting up without falling now, he just let her sit in the child's part of the cart. She sat there the whole time without even falling over! Justin said that you could tell she felt big.

Her newest game she loves: Steam Roller! Justin started playing this with Mya the other day and she just screamed (her play scream). Now she loves playing this all of the time. In fact the other morning Justin was playing this with her, and after he stopped for a little bit, she tried rolling on him while screaming. It was so CUTE!!!

She learned how to blow! This might not be exciting to anyone else, but sometimes we blow on her face and she loves it. She has 6 more months to get it down to blow out her candle, but yesterday morning when she woke up, she was blowing out of her mouth. I was excited for her accomplishment!

Expounding Her Boundaries

So whenever I get ready in the mornings, Mya usually just plays on the floor in my room and always stays in the same area. But I think she's realized she can actually go places. She had so much fun exploring our upstairs. She'd go into the hall and look back at me and just smile. Crawl a little closer to the other bedrooms, and then turn back around and come back in my room. She did this a couple of times. She thinks she's so big.

First Big Bump

On the 24th, Mya had her first big fall. She's getting quick! I'm used to checking on her every couple of minutes. But the next thing I knew, I hear this big thud and I look over and see she had fallen head first onto our entry way that steps down from our living room with her little legs sticking straight up in the air. The only evidence - a bruise on her forehead...

She hated me icing her forehead, but after I was done, I had left the ice pack out. What did Mya think it was? A giant Otter Pop! She was in heaven trying to eat it.

Into Everything!

Now that Mya's scooting all over the place, she is into everything! At work, if I look away for a while, next thing I know, she's found some piece of vinyl somewhere (it's not hard since there is vinyl everywhere) and has it or is putting it in her mouth! She is definitely an explorer! She's so fun though. I can't believe how big she is. I think back to when she was born, and it's hard for me to believe that she was so small. These last 6 months have gone by so fast!

It's Okay To Make A Mess Now And Then

That's one thing I've learned since being a mom, that messes are just fine...Mya had so much fun with this piece of licorice when we were boating. She was completely covered afterwards and so sticky, but nothing a wet wipe (or two) can't clean up. Especially when she's so cute, it's hard not to just let her make a mess and clean up once she's done.

Boating

We finally were able to get in the water this year! Lake Powell was so cold, and every time we've gone since, the boat has had problems. It was way nice though and so much fun! Mya freaked out a little when we got in the water, but that was mostly because it was so cold at first. But once she got used to it, she was able to relax and enjoy it with us.

I Love Being A Mom

Okay, although this picture was way awkward when my sisters were taking this (Now look down at Mya, smile a little, your hair's in your face...) one of my favorite things is when Mya cuddles up to me, sucks her thumb, and falls asleep. I love the feeling of having someone so dependent on me, loves me so much unconditionally, and has one hundred percent trust in me that I'll take care of her and do what needs to be done to keep her safe and happy. I never would have imagined that being a mom would be so amazing. It kills me that in a couple of weeks we'll be leaving her for 2 nights for our anniversary. One of my favorite moments with her is holding and rocking her and singing her to sleep. And of course her kisses she loves to give now! I love Mya's slobbery kisses! But all of the greatness of being a mom makes up for when she wakes up in the middle of the night or her fussiness because she is just tired. I love being a mom!

4th of July Weekend

On the 4th of July, Justin was sick. So we took it really easy all day. But that night, we did have a barbecue (thanks to Shane and D'Lynn, we now have a BBQ grill) and went to Hooper's fireworks. Mya didn't seem to care for the fireworks at first, but once I had her lay down to eat, then she kept her eye on them. She only jumped a few times with the really loud ones. It was a lot of fun and really nice to have a long weekend with the family!

What did we do on the other days of our long weekend? Well, some of you may know how much I 'love' our 13 year old appliances in our kitchen. So it's good news to say that our dishwasher finally started giving us problems (leaking). So we were able to go buy us a new one! Even though it went out a month after our insurance went out, we were still excited to get a new one and were able to get a good deal with the holiday sales! You might not ever hear me say this again, but I was actually excited to do the dishes once we put in our new dishwasher!

Little Hunter...

Justin and Mya watching hunting movies together. She also started scooting! She still prefers to roll to get where she needs to, but will scoot when necessary. She kept scooting up to get the screen, then we'd pull her back again. She did this about 4 times!

Hot Summer Days

Eating a popsicle on a hot day. She loves otter pops and will eat a whole one when we let her!

She fell asleep in the car on the ride home from work. She just looked so cute so I had to take this picture.

Almost 6 months old!

Mya will be 6 months old in a few days. Time has flown! She is getting more fun every day. Her newest thing she loves to do is growl. She is always growling now, and especially at her Daddy. She loves getting tickled and rolling around the floor playing with her toys. She loves playing "Get You." Whether it's me getting her or Justin and her chasing me around the house, I have never heard her laugh so hard. Boo is her favorite game though. Even if she's crying, we can get her to crack a smile with Peek-A-Boo. If she's this fun now, I can't even imagine how she'll be in a couple of months!
