New Set Of Jewels

Here's Mya:
Now here's a closer look:
I got brave on Saturday and decided to get Mya's ears pierced! She loves them now, but that first day was a little rocky. She cried a lot when it happened, and then did okay when she got to pick out new bracelets. But then every time she thought about it afterwards, she'd start crying. That night she woke up a few times. We'd go in there and she'd just be sitting up crying. I think it was because she wasn't sure how to lay. But once we'd lay her back down, she'd go right to sleep. The next day she was excited about them and was excited to show people. I'm glad I just did it and I think she's adorable with them! Here's some more pics of yesterday:

3 Years And Counting

Justin and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary this past week. We had decided to go camping up at Bear Lake so we could do some swimming while we were camping. A few days before we were supposed to leave, I called some of the campgrounds to get prices, only to find out we would be up there during Raspberry Days. We'll just say the first day was...an adventure. I didn't reserve a campground...to me, you reserve a hotel room, never thought about reserving a spot in the mountain. I now know that I should have made a reservation! We drove around for over 2 hours up there looking for a campground. We had some rough moments, but in the end it was something to remember. :)

After we finally found a spot to camp up the road toward the Minnetonka Cave, we decided to go through the cave. Justin hadn't remembered ever going through it, so we went. I'm so glad he didn't leave his hoodie back at camp, or I would have froze in there!
That night was so relaxing (along with the entire weekend). We made Hobo dinners and roasted marshamallows and sat around the fire until we were tired.

The next morning we decided we should get to the beach early with Raspberry Days. I think we did pretty good. We passed the north beach with plenty of spots, to find a beach I remembered going to when I was little (plus I wanted to see if the Shoe House was still there). Once we hit the south beach, I relized we had gone too far and decided just to hang out there. There were a few good spots left, but within a few hours there were people behind people on the beach. It was so fun and relaxing though! We acted like little kids again, finding seashells and playing in the sand, throwing the football or frisbee around, and the best part was just spending one on one time focusing on each other.
We did hit a little bit of Raspberry Days and definitely had to get a raspberry shake. We drove around a while trying to find a convenience store for some Aloe (major sunburns!) and ended seeing a deer.
No suprise, with the hunt two weeks away, we had to get the binoculars and spotting scope out to check out the 2-point. We drove around a little and finally found my shoe house then headed back to camp. It was such a nice weekend!

Our anniversary wasn't until Monday, where I made a killer dinner! It was so yummy! We had baby back ribs (which I'll put the recipe on my recipe section), garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed veggies, garlic bread, and chocolate-covered strawberries to top it off! It seriously was the ideal weekend and it was really hard to go back to work the next day. I feel so lucky to have Justin and such a good marriage with him!

Swing Time!

It's FINISHED!!! Justin was finally able to work on Mya's swingset last weekend and got it finished. It's amazing, he does good work. I feel so lucky to have such a handy man around the house! How does Mya like it?...She LOVES it!!! Tonight she was probably on it for over an hour. 40 minutes straight just on her swing once we got home tonight. It's so fun and is just another step that just adds to making our home feel like 'ours.'

"Dad, Please?"

I may have already told some of you this, but I don't want to forget it. We've been teaching Mya to say please lately and she's picking it up pretty good. After doing this for a couple of days, we were sitting down at dinner and Justin had his phone out texting someone back. Mya was sort of whining for the phone, but we both ignored her until I heard, "Dad...Please?" She said it so cute and of course she got the phone. Another day we were driving up the road and she wanted her juice so I reminded her to say please and gave it to her. About 5 minutes later, Justin and I were talking and then I heard, "Juice Please." I just can't believe how much she understands and she's just so big to me every day. The last one was that same night afer we got home. It was after 10:30 and Mya went and sat in her chair in the family room, grabbed her baby, juice, blanket and the movie Barnyard's DVD case, looked and Justin and pointed to the TV and said, "Please?" Justin was a push over so Mya was up until almost 11:15 (her bedtime is 8:30) watching that movie. Her eyes were so glazed over watching it because she was so tired, so I was the party pooper and said she had to go to bed before the movie was over. I'm pretty proud of her for picking this up, though!

Dancing Queen

Sorry, it's sideways. I can turn it on my phone, but I can't figure out how to turn it on the computer. But, I had to share, she's so fun!

Park City Get Away

A few years ago all of the girls in my family started going to Park City once a year. We get a hotel for a night and the first day we just go swimming and hang out.

After swimming, Mya and Zoe were a little cold, so we let them swim a little longer in some warm water.
We always take Papa Murphy's pizza and cook that up there and that night we threw a shower for Rebecca then watched the Bachelorette. Mya and Zoe had fun on their own...

I'm just glad it wasn't our toilet paper!
Such a good mom! Mya never leaves a baby behind when we go somewhere and she's always making sure it's taken care of.

The next morning after all 20 girls were ready, we headed out and did some shopping at the outlets. I got some way cute stuff for Mya with great deals! Way fun. Then we all went to lunch at the Baja Cantina.

Afterwards most of the girls went down the alpine slide, but Mya, Zoe and Ella rode the merry-go-round.
That was the longest ride I have ever been on and Mya was scared the entire time! I had to hold onto her so I was going up and down with the animals. She only cried a little at first, but then I got her to tough it out to the end. Maybe next year won't be so scary for her!
