Happy Birthday Mya!

Wednesday was Mya's birthday! She's been so excited for it to come. We had bought balloons a few days before her birthday and stuff to make cakes and plates for her party. Every day she'd talk about the balloons for her birthday and how she'd be 2! The night before I decorated the house for her birthday (after she went to bed) and made the cakes...which I'm not usually happy with the way my cakes turn out, but I think they were way cute this year! They were a lot of work and I'm glad they turned out!
Mya's big gift for her birthday this year was a new bed.
We decided to put her to bed the night before and after she fell asleep, put her in our bed while we put her bed together. After we had everything put together, we moved her back into her new bed so she'd wake up in that on her birthday. We were up until 1 putting it together then I started cleaning up from making her birthday cakes. About 1:30 she woke up from a bad dream crying and I went in there and laid by her (which isn't something I could do in her crib). After laying by her for a couple of minutes, she opened her eyes and looked around a little and I told her she was in her new bed. She smiled so big and got so excited. Then I talked to her and told her happy birthday and we talked a giggled for a while longer. The next morning she woke up and wanted me to come in and lay by her and she was so excited and happy about her new bed and it being her birthday! She was so cute about it all and I was was really glad that she got that it was her special day.
We went bowling that day and played at the arcade there. Then we went to dinner at Santa Monica's and had everyone come over for cake and ice cream later. Here are some things she got from people:
We also got her a Cinderella figurine set. She is so into Cinderella right now and watches it almost every day...definitely every time we go to Lisa's house. She sat and played with them for 10 minutes after she opened them while singing "Sing Sweet Nightingale." She likes to sing a lot now since she's been watching so much Cinderella.
Justin's parent's got Mya a bike and outfit...she was so excited for the bike once she realized it was for her. At first when she saw it she said, "Ivy's Bike?" like she didn't know why they were bringing Ivy's bike to her house.
My parent's got Mya a Little People doll house and her head board. She loves the house and it came with a little movie that she watched last night and loved.

Lisa, Rebecca and Shane's family got her a baby Cinderella, which she just loves and has to watch Cinderella with her and makes sure that Baby Cinderella can see the TV good so she can see herself on TV.

Trichelle's family got Mya some finger puppets and this really cute stuffed animal bird...it looks like Kevin from Up so of course, we watched Up the other night with the bird.

Derek's family got Mya a cute pillowcase with her name on it.
Michelle and Bridgette's family got Mya a mixer to go with her kitchen. She loves playing with it and putting the eggs and butter in it then mixing them all together.

Justin's Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa John got Mya some cute outfits.
It's so fun to have a close family and know that we all support each other! It helped Mya's day to be even that much more special for her!

New Year's

New Year's was so much fun! Our plans for the night were to go bowling with Justin's family, then head out to their house for games and treats. Mya loved bowling and was so excited every time it was her turn. All morning I made cinnamon rolls for our treat to bring...they were so yummy and I've been craving them ever since...so I'm thinking I'll be making them for my birthday dessert for my family's family night this month on my birthday. We stopped at Trichelle's before going bowling and had pizza then started our long and fun New Year's night.

I'm really excited for this year. I started working less for my sister so I now have even more time to spend with Mya and that will be nice for when we have Parker. I'm way excited for Parker to come. I had my 3D ultrasound yesterday and everything looks so good so we're way happy with that. Other than getting ready for the baby and Justin's school, I don't think we have a lot planned for the year...but I know it'll be a fun year!
(It was hard to get a good face shot because his hands were by his face the entire time!)

Christmas

Christmas was so fun with Mya this year. Christmas Eve we went to dinner at LaFerrovia's, drove through Layton Park's lights, than came home and read Christmas stories and went to bed. We put Mya to bed early that night so she would wake up a little earlier than normal since Justin's brother would be calling Christmas morning. She must have been tired because we ended up waking her up around 8 to go open presents. When we walked downstairs, all of the presents were sitting out and Mya got a kitchen and that was sitting out unwrapped. It was like she didn't even notice any of that and went straight for her stocking to see what candy Santa put in there...We did talk up her stocking a lot so that's probably why. After we went through stockings, then I asked her if she even noticed the presents. Once I said that, she started looking around the room and her face just lit up with excitement! It was so fun. She would grab a present and hand it to whoever's it was and she LOVED her kitchen. Mya ended up getting, a kitchen, play food, a new pillow, Monster's Inc., clothes and a Pluto stuffed animal. Mya also got some books and a rocking horse from Justin's parents that she opened at their house that morning.
The day was so nice. We visited Justin's family, my parent's and Justin's grandparents then headed home and watched Monster's Inc. It was such a fun family day and such a great Christmas!

Christmas Parties

I'm a little behind with blogging, but let's see if I can't catch up today. At the beginning of December we had the Ropelato Christmas Party. We had Lasagna for dinner, played games, the little kids did a nativity play, then the little kids exchanged gifts. Here's some pictures from that party:
Mya was an angel for the nativity and she really got into dressing up. I wasn't sure if she would go for it, but had to have her halo and her belt on and every time her halo fell off, it was tragic. When she got to the manger scene, she really wanted the baby Jesus and cried for the baby....but Mary was a good mom and didn't give baby Jesus up. It was so funny. I think she did that because I told her to go sit by Baby Zaden, but I think she only heard the baby part.
Justin's cousins got him and his uncle Scott a gift based off of their last Elk hunt they went on. They got a target and bullets to help them out for the next hunt.
Mya got make-up and a Christmas book. She LOVED her make-up!!!

The Wayment Christmas Party was a lot of fun, too. Santa came first! Mya did a lot better this year with Santa. She was actually really excited to see him until it was time to sit on his lap, then she wasn't so sure. She did sit on his lap for a little bit though.
Then we had a ham dinner and exchanged gifts. What's a Christmas without the traditional pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa? Mya loved them and got a cool beach towel and bag for swimming that my Mom had gotten all the kids from her visit to Florida this year. She also got a cute shirt from her cousin Jess.My parents get us some food storage every year along with another present. This year we all got easy-up canopies. We were very excited since we had to borrow theirs this year when we went to Bear Lake.

One more Christmas Party! The Monday before Christmas Justin's mom had a dinner with just their family and did some gifts, played games and watched Elf. It was a fun night and Mya got a paint set (she's been very into painting lately) and pajamas!

Our Little Guy

We've decided on a name! It'll be Parker Joe Ropelato.

Why Joe? Joe is Justin's middle name, Justin's dad's middle name, Justin's Grandpa's middle name and Justin's Great-Grandpa's name is Joseph.

Everything still looks great at all of my appointments and I am feeling the lovely effects of pregnancy more and more every day. It's so fun and Mya's so excited to help take care of him "when he comes out to play." She told me she'll give him juice, blankets, and binkies!

How Many More Days?

Mya can't wait until Christmas this year! Every morning (and even after her naps sometimes) she runs to her stocking to see if Santa came and put candy in her stocking. She also loves to lay in front of the Christmas tree and look at all of the presents in anticipation of opening them. Only 4 more days...but to Mya, that might just seem like forever!
