Meet Willie & Maggie

These are our new rabbits! They're 6 weeks old and so cute! We got them on Memorial Day. Maggie is the white one and she is so calm. She loves being held and is always eating. Willie (named after Willie Nelson-thanks to Justin) does not like to be held. He likes to run around the yard, and once he goes, good luck catching him.
That first night we had them, Mya would walk up to them and squat down by them then just say "hi" with a little wave. Then she'd go up to the other one and do the same thing. She doesn't like to hold them. If I ever get her to hold them, it's really fast and sometimes I get nervous for the bunnies. She gets so jealous though! Yesterday I had both of them on my lap so I wouldn't be chasing them all around the yard and Mya pushed them off and sat on my lap to let them know that I was her momma. She's always so concerned if one hops behind a bush or somewhere she can't see it and wants one of us to go get it. It'll be fun having these rabbits and I think they'll be low maintenance pets that we can handle.

Cousin Zaden

Mya loves her cousin Zaden. He's 10 months younger than her and they weigh the same! She loves to help feed him, give him his binky, give him blankets (she'll even share hers with him!) and just play with him. But poor Zaden! Sometimes I think Mya's a little too much for him. For example...
On Sunday Mya decided to ride him like a pony. She sat on his back and patted his head while Zaden just took it. Eventually he had enough and Grandpa saved him.

Memorial Day Weekend

This year for memorial day weekend, Justin had to work, so Mya and I teamed up with my parents and made the rounds to the cemeteries. We went to my Grandma and Grandpa Nelson's graves, my Grandma Wayment's graves (all in Ogden) then down to Brigham City to my mom's grandparent's graves.
Mya loved the cemeteries! She is so into smelling flowers lately. She'd wander around the cemetery, go up to some flowers, get her nose somewhat close to the flowers, smell and say "Mmmmmm". It was really funny and way fun. We even stopped for shakes in Brigham City aftewards. Thanks mom and dad. It was fun doing some old traditions again.

Wedding Bells!

Last week was kind of crazy with the weddings. It made a busy week with Justin's birthday and wedding stuff (not to mention our washer going out...so figuring out what to do there). But it was a fun week and nice to dwell on friends and family. On Friday my best friend growing up got married. She was two years younger than me, but the girl closest to my age growing up, plus her backyard connected with my backyard. So I have a lot of memories with Lauren. She got married in the Bountiful temple and Justin went with me for the sealing. It was a good reminder for me about marriage and the promises made and treating each other. It reminded me of when Justin and I got married. Lauren and her husband were smiling so big and were so excited. That's how Justin and I were. When we were waiting to get married, we were laughing and enjoying every bit of it. But we were watching other couples and they looked scared to death and weren't even talking to each other. After the wedding I went to her luncheon at the Wight House in Bountiful. It was a fun day.

After the wedding I had to go check on a washer, then off to get a pedicure with Justin's mom and sisters.
Trichelle's wedding was the next day, so we all got pedicures. They all turned out so cute and it was way fun.

Even Ivy got to come and get her toes painted. Thanks Dawn!

Then the next day was Trichelle's wedding. It was rainy all day, but quit a couple hours before the wedding. It was that crisp feeling, but it wasn't cold, just that clean air and fresh feeling.
Once it started, it started to sprinkle a little, then rained at the end. But everything went really well.
Afterwards we went to Dawn and Larry's for refreshments and then the family went to Prairie Schooner for dinner. Even though there was a lot going on last week, it was fun and everything went really well.

Happy Birthday Justin!

Justin's birthday was a lot of fun. He kind of got to drag it out for a few days, so it was a fun week. The day before his birthday his parent's took our family out to dinner.
Justin chose Sizzler and it was a lot of fun. Thanks Larry and Dawn!
On his birthday, Mya and I woke Justin up with his cake and singing and then Mya helped Justin open his presents. It's so funny how she always thinks it's her birthday. She got so excited when I started singing "happy birthday."

That night Justin and I went to dinner at Ruby River (so good!) and were going to go to a movie. I guess we're getting old because after dinner, we were too tired to go to a movie, so we went and picked Mya up and went home. The next night we went to a movie and saw State of Play. It was really fun dragging his birthday out a few days. Happy Birthday Love!

TWO New Additions To The Family

This was Mya's reaction when we told her. She was so excited. In about a month, we will be bringing home two bunnies! We can't bring them home yet because they were only born a week and a half ago, but we're pretty excited and think we can handle rabbits. Mya loves animals lately and we talked about a puppy, but didn't want a dog, so this was the next best thing. Wish us luck!
